All videos in the CMS must be hosted on youtube. This is done for many reasons, first and foremost is their servers will perform much better for serving video content than ours. They also support more formats and they have better tools for editing and enhancing videos.
Uploading to Youtube
To upload to Youtube, simple go to www.youtube.com and click sign in. If you have an e-mail account setup with google you can use this account to sign in. If you are already signed into your e-mail account, google will prompt you and ask if you'd like to use your business e-mail account.'
Once you have done this, you should have an Camera with an + icon button at the top right corner of your browser.
Click on this icon and a drop down menu will be displayed with Upload Video and Go Live options.
Select Upload Video.
You will be directed to a new page which will have a Select files to upload
Click on Select files to upload and find the video you would like to upload. You can select more than one, but for this tutorial, we will select a single video.
IMPORTANT: If you want your videos to be available to embed on your site but not listed in Youtube, change the privacy drop down to Unlisted.
This will ensure that the only place the video shows up will be in your CMS.
Fill out any required information on this page. We recommend you put in a nice title for the video. Once the video is uploaded you can choose which thumbnail you would like to represent the video when it is in the Media Files list in the CMS.
Once you have selected the thumbnail, and saved, copy the video link at the top.
Go back into the CMS, go to Media Files and select Add Video. When the popup appears, paste that link into the Link text field. A preview of this video should appear below, then click save.
The video is now in your Media library and can be added to your website in the same way you add images.
